Chad Richardson started working in the newspaper business as a photojournalist when he was still in high school. Since then his photographs have appeared in dozens of area publications. Chad graduated from Moorhead State University with a degree in photojournalism and has worked as a professional newspaper photographer since 1995. Many times he has earned national and state awards for his sports photography. Chad first photographed a wedding in 1989 and he's been shooting weddings ever since. Chad spent three years at a studio working to develop his portrait photography. He's now trained in that art and can deliver timeless portraits of brides and grooms to go along with his wedding photojournalism.
So what is wedding photojournalism? What does it mean to have a photojournalist at your wedding? Simply put we document what happens at your wedding. We're quiet deliberate and after a while you'll forget we are there. We never say "Chin up." We never count to three before taking a photograph. You just go about your business and we document your day. When we're all said and done you'll have an album that tells the story of your day. We think that's a lot better than an album full of posed pictures taken at the front of the church. Does this mean we don't do formal photos? No. We understand brides and grooms do want some formal photos and we happily oblige. That's why Chad spent three summers learning portrait photography for a studio. We don't think you'll find a more well-rounded studio out there. Formals take about 30 minutes. This means the groom and groomsmen don't have to show up at the church four hours before the wedding. Grooms love us for this.
